Southbound SR 99 closed over First Avenue Bridge
The First Avenue bridge on State Route 99 (SR 99) has been closed for multiple hours Saturday due to police activity.
SR 99 is fully blocked at the First Avenue Bridge heading south, according to Washington State Patrol (WSP) Trooper Rick Johnson, with the agency asking drivers to take alternate routes. The Northbound lanes reopened at approximately 11 a.m.

The bridge’s southbound lanes have been blocked off since approximately 9:30 a.m., according to WSP.
“We still do not have an estimate when the bridge will reopen,” the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) posted on X.
