First look at Universal Studios Mega Movie Parade’s Ghostbusters float

Today, Universal Studios Orlando launched tech rehearsals for this summer’s Mega Movie Parade, giving parkgoers their first look at the included floats, including a jaw-dropping homage to the Ghostbusters franchise!

The float is unveiled in these photos, taken by Eugen Schnee of the What the Flux podcast, and as seen, Universal has brought upon the return of Gozer the Gozerian. Each side of the float features characters and iconic imagery, including Slimer, the Library Ghost, and a Mini-Puft holding onto the Ecto-Containment Unit while the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man stands atop, surveying the park.

Among the 100 performers bringing the parade to life, fans will recognize some familiar-looking characters, including stand-ins for the original four Ghostbusters, the aforementioned Gozerian God, Janine Melnitz, Louis Tully, both Phoebe and Trevor Spengler, and an unfortunate slime-covered hotdog vendor.

Inside Universal uploaded footage of the float in action, which can be heard accompanied by a remix of the Ray Parker Jr. theme song and classic quotes from the original film.

As previously reported, a replica Ecto-1 will also be part of the parade, planned to lead the Gozerian Temple; however, it was said not to be part of today’s presentation due to weather concerns.

The Universal Mega Movie Parade will run daily, with its last show scheduled for November 14th. Outside of Ghostbusters, other floats include E.T., Back to the Future, Jaws, Jurassic World, Minions, Sing, Trolls, and Kung Fu Panda.

A huge thank you goes out to Steve Czarnecki of the YouTube channel On the Scenes Adventures for the heads-up!
