Target announces it will stop accepting this form of payment

STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — One form of payment will no longer be accepted at Targets across the United States.

The giant retailer announced it will cease accepting personal checks starting this month, a spokesperson told NBC Chicago.

The Minnesota-based company made the decision due to “extremely low volumes,” according to the media outlet.

Starting July 15, customers will have to pay by any one of the other acceptable forms: Target Circle Cards, cash, digital wallets, SNAP/EBT, credit and debit cards, and buy now-pay later services.

There are three Target locations on Staten Island: One on Veterans Road W in Charleston; one on Richmond Avenue in New Springville; and one on Forest Avenue in Port Richmond Center.
